Tara Stratton, MD

Amid devastation and despair, Tara Stratton, an emergency physician from British Columbia, heard stories of resilience and hope as she volunteered with a Mobile Medical Team in Ukraine. The heartbreaking tales she heard from patients remain with her, while the encounters with the children deeply touched her heart.

“Many (of the patients) had nightmares from their time under occupation,” Tara recalls. “They struggled to readjust to normal life, facing challenges at school, home, and even basic things like learning to speak.”

Tara found profound inspiration in the courage and spirit of the Ukrainian people. “It was a wonderful experience to serve them,” she says.
