Mobile Primary Care Teams
Jordan
Mobile Primary Care Teams provide free medical care and medications at clinics in locations to people with little to no access to healthcare.
Mobile Primary Care Teams
Egypt
Mobile Primary Care Teams provide free medical care and medications at clinics in three locations to people with little to no access to health care. Common chronic conditions include hypertension, diabetes, malnutrition, PTSD, and a variety of women’s health issues. A ten-day commitment is required.
Mobile Medical Teams
Ukraine
Mobile Medical Teams provide primary care to individuals and families in communities with limited to no other access to medical care. Common chronic conditions are hypertension, diabetes/mellitus, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders, as well as seasonal issues such as URI disorders.
A two week commitment is required. Includes travel dates.
Caregiver
Rosarito, Mexico
The Missionaries of Charity Sisters seek compassionate medical and non-medical volunteers to assist with the care of elderly men experiencing end-of-life diseases, chronic illness, and homelessness.
Volunteers serve as personal caregivers to provide daily care for the men, treating them with dignity and respect.
Spanish language skills are a plus but not required. A seven-day minimum commitment is required. (Two to four weeks preferred).
Caregiver
San Francisco, California
The Missionaries of Charity Sisters seek medical and non-medical volunteers at Gift of Love Hospice as they care for men at the end of life.
Gift of Love provides a loving, family environment where volunteers serve in ways that match the needs of the Sisters, including the monitoring of residents at night. Non-medical volunteers serve in household duties, preparing meals, gardening, reading to patients, or simply sitting with them to let them know they are not alone.
Preferred medical volunteers (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, MA’s, EMT’s, Paramedics, Students) provide assistance with wound care and medication administration.
A seven-day minimum commitment is required. (Two-four weeks preferred).
Caregiver/Shelter Assistant
Tijuana, Mexico
The Missionaries of Charity Sisters seek compassionate caregivers who can provide basic care while treating men experiencing end of life needs and also serving those who are homeless with dignity and respect.
Medical and non-medical caregivers assist the Sisters in caring for those suffering from end-of-life diseases and assist in providing meals and overnight shelter to those in need.
Spanish skills are a plus but not required. A seven-day minimum commitment is required. (Two to four weeks preferred).
Shelter Assistant
Gallup, New Mexico
The Missionaries of Charity Sisters need compassionate volunteers to serve as shelter assistants at their soup kitchen and overnight shelter. Volunteers help with meal preparation, sleeping accommodations, and other tasks such as shelter maintenance and laundry assistance.
Teams of two men or a married couple are preferred. Navajo and Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
A seven-day minimum commitment is required. (Two to four weeks preferred).
Call for Medical and Non-Medical Volunteers
Global Care Force is looking for uniquely qualified individuals, both medical and non-medical, to serve in communities around the globe with limited to no access to healthcare.
Medical professionals and teams provide direct care to individuals and families with a variety of acute and chronic conditions. GCF volunteers may serve as part of mobile medical teams in Ukraine, or individually to asylum seekers and migrants arriving at the southern border, or homeless shelters and hospices in other locations throughout the United States and Mexico.
Non-medical volunteers serve as caregivers and assist the shelter staff with; providing comfort to the guests, food preparation, cleaning, maintenance and overall supervision of the shelter.
Global Care Force volunteers provide compassionate care with respect for all cultures and faiths.

Volunteer FAQs
Q: How much does it cost to go on a Global Care Force deployment?
A: Deployment costs vary by location and are based on in-country expenses & logistics:
- Ukraine: $6,500 + airfare
- Egypt & Jordan: $6,000 + airfare
- Missionaries of Charity Sites: $1,200 per week (airfare included)
These amounts cover all core expenses such as accommodation, meals, in-country transportation, translators, and clinic supplies. Airfare may be included or separate, depending on the destination and availability of partner support.
Volunteers raise these funds through a guided fundraising process with the support of our Development and Global Programs teams.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit, and when is it due?
A: Yes, a deposit is required:
- For Ukraine, Egypt, Jordan, and the U.S. Southern Border deployments, the deposit is 10% of your total fundraising goal.
- For Missionaries of Charity sites, the deposit is a flat $150.
Deposits are due upon acceptance and are applied toward your overall fundraising goal. This commitment helps us begin preparing your placement, travel logistics, and training in advance of your deployment.
Q: What does my fundraising cover?
A: Funds raised for your deployment go directly to Global Care Force and help cover the full cost of your mission. These costs include:
- Ground transportation within the host country
- Accommodations and meals
- Local translators
- Medications and clinical supplies
- Logistics support and basic operations
In addition, a portion of your team’s fundraising also supports Global Care Force’s administrative costs—such as volunteer coordination, deployment planning, and ongoing support for long-term program sustainability.
Q: Does Global Care Force cover airfare?
A: Airfare is not covered for volunteers traveling to their locations.
Please note:
- Airfare costs are not included in your fundraising goal, regardless of the deployment location.
If your deployment requires personal airfare arrangements, our team will provide guidance to help you coordinate your travel plans.
Q: What happens if I don't meet the fundraising deadline?
A: From the moment you are accepted and assigned to a deployment, Global Care Force’s Global Programs and Development teams actively support and guide your fundraising efforts. We provide tools, resources, and personalized assistance to help you reach your goal.
If you’re having difficulty fundraising, we will work with you to explore solutions along the way. In some cases, deployment timing may need to be adjusted, but reassignment to a different team is not always possible due to program capacity and logistics.
Please note that as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations made toward your deployment are tax-deductible and non-refundable, regardless of whether the fundraising goal is met, or the deployment takes place.
Q: Does Global Care Force provide travel insurance, or do volunteers need to purchase that themselves?
A: Global Care Force does not provide travel insurance for volunteers. However, we strongly recommend that all volunteers purchase travel insurance for the duration of their deployment.
We can provide recommendations for reputable travel insurance providers that offer coverage for international travel, medical emergencies, and trip interruptions. Volunteers are responsible for selecting and purchasing the policy that best fits their needs.
Q: What kind of accommodations do Global Care Force volunteers stay in during their deployment?
A: Volunteers typically stay in safe, modest accommodations such as hotels, guesthouses, or mission housing arranged by Global Care Force. Whenever possible, each volunteer is provided with a private room. Rooms are generally furnished with basic linens and towels.
We recommend that volunteers bring their own toiletries and any personal comfort items they may need. While accommodations vary slightly by location, our team works to ensure they are clean, secure, and within reasonable distance of the deployment site.
Q: Do volunteers have individual or shared hotel rooms?
A: Volunteers typically stay in safe, modest accommodations such as hotels, guesthouses, or mission housing arranged by Global Care Force. Whenever possible, each volunteer is provided with a private room. Rooms are generally furnished with basic linens and towels.
We recommend that volunteers bring their own toiletries and any personal comfort items they may need. While accommodations vary slightly by location, our team works to ensure they are clean, secure, and within reasonable distance of the deployment site.
Q: Can non-medical volunteers participate? What role do they play?
A: Yes! Non-medical volunteers are an important part of our mission and are welcome to join deployments based on the needs of each location. While placements are limited, non-medical team members may assist with logistics, administration, patient intake, hospitality, and overall team support.
Their presence allows medical volunteers to focus on clinical care while ensuring the operation runs smoothly. Each deployment opportunity will outline whether non-medical roles are available.
Q: Do volunteers ever carry medical supplies with them for a project?
A: Occasionally, volunteers are given the option to carry a limited number of medical supplies for a specific deployment. This is always carefully coordinated by the Global Care Force team.
Due to increased scrutiny from customs and immigration authorities, we are very specific about what items can be transported, how much, and how they should be packed. If applicable, detailed instructions and documentation will be provided well in advance of travel.
Q: Is it safe to serve in Ukraine? What precautions does Global Care Force take?
A: Safety is our highest priority. While any deployment to a region experiencing conflict carries inherent risk, Global Care Force takes extensive precautions to protect our volunteers in Ukraine.
We work closely with trusted local partners and maintain communication with local authorities and humanitarian networks to monitor conditions in real time. For security reasons, the specifics of these communications cannot be shared publicly.
Volunteers receive detailed safety briefings before deployment and are required to follow all security protocols, curfews, and movement guidelines while on the ground. We also maintain contingency plans, including evacuation procedures, to respond quickly should conditions change.

Q: What happens in the case of an evacuation?
A: Each deployment location has a site-specific evacuation plan in place. In the event of an emergency that requires evacuation, the designated team leader—trained in our safety protocols—will coordinate and guide the safe evacuation of all volunteers.
Global Care Force works closely with local partners to monitor conditions and ensure volunteer safety at all times. You will be briefed on evacuation procedures during orientation before deployment.
