Helena couple return from providing medical aid, comfort in Ukraine

When Ed and Melinda Leas traveled from Montana to Ukraine with Global Care Force to provide medical care to villagers affected by the war, they knew they were going to a war zone, with many clinics just 20-30 miles from the front lines.

The Leas and their team traveled to nine liberated villages, providing care for more than 300 people. Ed treated patients for hypertension, diabetes, insomnia, and stress-related illness, while Melinda showed patients how stretching and other exercises could alleviate pain. On their return, they shared their story with the Independent Record.
