Friends,
With the change in the Oval Office, many of you are wondering if Global Care Force still needs volunteers at the southern border in El Paso, Texas. Let me answer loud and clear: ABSOLUTELY!
Regardless of the current immigration policy, we strongly believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. And, as long as there is a lack of access to healthcare, Global Care Force volunteers will continue to step in and provide care regardless of nationality, faith or circumstances. We are only called to serve those in need.
While the border situation remains fluid, one thing is clear: our partners in El Paso will continue to support their shelter guests, and they need our help to do so. Many of the men, women, and children arrived at the shelters suffering from open sores/wounds as well as intestinal and respiratory issues. Our volunteers provide essential primary care, which is often the only source of medical attention they receive.
Many of the shelter guests fled unimaginable poverty, violence, and injustice, making a harrowing, treacherous journey to seek safety. Their decision to leave their homes was not a choice, but a means of survival. Now, they find themselves facing an even more uncertain future.
This is where you come in. We need volunteers who can provide care and compassion in this critical moment. I’m calling on you to step up and serve. You will make a difference in someone’s life and transform your own life.
We need doctors, nurses, paramedics, and EMTs who can give a week of their time to serve. Non-medical volunteers are also essential as shelter assistants.
Will you raise your hand and say “Send me?” Register to volunteer today! Together, we can be a force for care and hope.
