Tell us a little about yourself and why you give to Global Care Force regularly?
My name is David Thornburgh. I’m 72 years old, and I live in Oklahoma. I give because I care about the people around me, including those across the country and around the world. We are all human beings with needs and wants and the desire to love and to be loved.
My sister did outreach in the past for mission work, and I know how meaningful it was to her to have regular donations. She introduced me to Global Care Force because she had met one of the volunteers.
Some of our donors are not in a position to volunteer with Global Care Force, so financially supporting our volunteers is a way they can participate. Would you agree and why?
Even though I cannot give a lot, I know the importance of consistent support. By giving regularly, I feel a connection to the people in the field, and I know that they appreciate being appreciated.
I am not able to go out to the points of need, but I can contribute to Global Care Force because I believe in their mission and commitment to helping people, with the only criteria being that there is a need.
If someone wanted to become a regular donor to Global Care Force, what would you tell them?
I would encourage anyone who feels the urge to become a regular donor to an outreach group, Global Care Force is a worthy cause, and to start with an amount that they are able to give, knowing that you can always adjust the amount as you are able.
