How One Couple Stays Connected to the Global Care Force

Why do you give on a regular basis?

Gary Morsch has been a friend of ours since college. When he started Global Care Force, we were on the initial information list. We knew if Gary was motivated to do something, it would most likely happen. Donating was a great way to help him in the organizations he founded, like Global Care Force, get up and running. We have continued to be regular donors as we see how the organization fulfills the mandate to serve those in need.

We know a lot of our donors are not in a position to volunteer, so financially supporting GCF is a way they can participate. Would you agree and why?

Since we are not medical personnel, donating allows us to support those who can do active, hands-on work. It’s rewarding to see how GCF goes wherever help is needed. It’s a blessing to know there are people willing to volunteer their time and talent. Donating makes us feel like a small part of the action!

What criteria are most important to you in determining what organizations you support?

Our criteria for deciding to support are:

• Organizational values that reflect our commitment to serve others around the world and at home

• Credible/responsible/transparent use of donations

• Reports from those “in the field” about what’s happening

• Appreciation of our support (not required, but nice)

If someone wanted to become a regular donor to Global Care Force, what would you tell them?

Try it, you’ll like it! It doesn’t have to be a large amount. Everything helps. We don’t make large donations, but we do it regularly. These types of service organizations must have confidence that donors will be there when volunteers are needed.
