Joan Braun, RN, received a remarkable surprise upon returning from her volunteer service in Ukraine with Global Care Force. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut presented her with a Certificate of Special Recognition for her dedication and service to the Ukrainian people.

The ceremony, which also included recognition from the Ukrainian American Veterans group, highlighted Joan’s commitment to providing health care during this time of war. Senator Blumenthal praised her volunteerism, saying her work not only supports the people of Ukraine but also strengthens America’s bond with them.

“Her work for the people of Ukraine also enormously benefits the people of America, demonstrating our friendship, providing vital assistance and enabling them to continue to fight again Vladimir Putin’s murderous, merciless, bloody assault on their freedom and independence,” Senator Blumenthal stated.
