Known as the “cradle of civilization,” Egypt is a destination for hundreds of thousands of refugees from South Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Yemen, Somalia, and Iraq. A significant portion of the population lives in extreme poverty.
Basic medical care is lacking in the locations we’ve curated for volunteers to serve in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Medications are scarce, and even when available, they are not affordable.
Our Primary Care Team will serve over eight days, assisting the local community and refugees.
Here is where YOU come in. Global Care Force is building our Egypt Primary Care Teams for an inaugural October deployment, with future teams deploying every eight weeks! Time is of the essence for you to apply for this meaningful life experience.
As a member of our Egypt Primary Care Team, you will provide free consultations and medications to those with little to no access to medical care or who cannot afford health care. Both acute and chronic health care needs remain unmet. For this very reason, Global Care Force expects to create continuity of care in the selected locations in Egypt. You will see patients for a variety of health issues. New and returning volunteers who make up our Primary Care Teams will return in eight weeks to the same locations, filling a huge gap in the healthcare of these humans.
Assigned a personal interpreter and a private hotel room, you will also have one day for cultural immersion and sightseeing during this specific deployment. Of course, you always have the option to arrive earlier or stay later on your own to explore Egypt’s natural beauty, architectural splendor, rich heritage, and vibrant traditions.
