Partnering with reStart for Project Homeless Kansas City
by Brenda Poor

We were honored to partner with reStart for Project Homeless Kansas City, providing volunteers to support this important event. The free, one-day event connected close to 500 individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Kansas City with essential services that are often difficult to obtain. Attendees received free medical, dental, and vision care, as well as housing assistance, legal aid, pet resources, haircuts, showers, and hot meals.

“It was certainly worth my time and the people attending were able to get some great life-changing resources,” said Janet Kincaid, volunteer. “I felt we made a positive impact on the guests we interacted with.”

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas kicked off the day with a proclamation honoring the 10-year anniversary of Project Homeless Kansas City.

Thank you to everyone who gave a few hours of their time to help those experiencing homelessness feel seen, heard, and cared for. Restoring dignity and offering hope- that’s what it’s all about! Hear about the experience from our volunteers on our YouTube page.
