Matching Gift Challenge Inspired by High School Students
Brenda Poor

We’re inspired by two remarkable young men, Krrish Sanjanwala and Pranith Surapaneni, who are donating $2,500 from the proceeds of their children’s book sales to support our “Fill the Pharmacy” program.

Every month, Global Care Force spends $10,000 monthly to provide free life-saving medications to underserved communities around the world. After learning about our Mobile Medical Clinics in Ukraine, Krrish and Pranith decided to donate their book proceeds to help fund these vital efforts.

Both seniors at Blue Valley Northwest high school in Overland Park, Kan., the friends each wrote a book about autoimmune disease, a subject close to their hearts. Krrish’s brother has alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss, while Pranith has vitiligo, a condition that causes patches of skin to lose color.

Through their personal experiences, they recognized how difficult it can be for children to understand autoimmune diseases beyond physical differences. This inspired them to create books that explain the science behind these conditions, while reassuring kids that differences on the outside don’t change the fact that everyone is special on the inside.

Their empathy and drive to help others led them to support Global Care Force, with one condition: they want to challenge others to join them in making a difference.

Their two books, Hidden Beauty: An Alopecia Story and Starry Skin: A Vitiligo Story, are available on Amazon.
