Global Care Force’s Promise to Ukraine
Brenda Poor

Friends,

As tensions rise concerning the war, one thing remains clear: the people of Ukraine still need urgent medical care. No matter the political climate, Global Care Force stands firm in our mission to provide life-saving medical support to those in need.

Since the war began, Global Care Force has  had boots on the ground, sending volunteer medical teams to Ukraine every month, delivering emergency care to thousands. Global Care Force Mobile Medical Teams have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles to more than 30 communities in central and southeastern Ukraine, providing medical care to civilians who have been left without access to doctors, nurses, or essential medications. For the most vulnerable people in these communities – many whom endured the horrors of Russian occupation – relocating to a safer area is simply not an option.

Ukrainians have suffered a sharp decline in physical and mental health. A World Health Organization assessment found that 68% of Ukrainians reported worsening health compared to before the war. Many face serious medical conditions and ongoing psychological trauma.

Global Care Force is filling a gap in Ukraine’s strained healthcare system. Our volunteers ensure continuity of care and provide free medications to patients. In 2024, volunteers treated over 3,000 patients! Even if the war were to end tomorrow, it will take years for Ukraine’s healthcare system to rebuild and recover.

Many of our volunteers have returned several times, drawn back by the profound impact of serving the people of Ukraine. Are you ready to be transformed? Register to volunteer today. Or make a difference by committing to a monthly donation to support our efforts. Your gift can provide life-saving medications to someone in Ukraine who desperately needs it.

The Ukrainian people are determined, resilience and deeply grateful for our volunteers. No matter what the future holds, we remain committed to stand alongside them.

With gratitude,
