What We Do

We connect volunteers with partner organizations serving people in need.

We provide tools and resources for individuals and groups to raise awareness and financial support for their volunteer service.

In times of crisis, we provide medical support to healthcare professionals caring for people in need.

“I learned life isn’t just about me and what I want. My life is now about what I can give to another person to make their life a little better.”

– Volunteer Jodi Cook (pictured above)

Ukraine Humanitarian Relief

When Russia invaded Ukraine, Global Care Force quickly responded. Disruption in supply chains cut off access to items doctors at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital #4 desperately needed to care for patients. They reached out to Global Care Force, requesting medicines, medical supplies, and negative pressure wound therapy systems (NPWT) that accelerate healing and prevent infections. Doctors told us they need the NPWT systems to treat combat trauma, burns and other gruesome wounds caused by life-threatening infections, both acute combat and chronic wounds. Generous donors answered the call so our volunteers could deliver thousands of doses of antibiotics and painkillers, tens of thousands of dollars of negative pressure wound therapy systems, body armor for medical teams, and many other life-saving supplies.

Global Care Force Founder, Dr. Gary Morsch, led a volunteer team to Ukraine in May, visiting cities near the front lines and meeting with doctors and hospital officials to determine their needs and how Global Care Force can help. Dr. Morsch saw firsthand the significant role negative pressure wound therapy systems have in the healing process and the need to deliver even more. One hospital only has 10% of the NPWT systems needed to care for all the wounded that would benefit from NPWT treatment. Some doctors even improvised, creating systems to simulate the effect of the NPWT, but they lack several of the features available from the manufactured systems.

Global Care Force needs your support to purchase and deliver more Negative Pressure Wound Therapy systems for Ukraine. If you would like to help, please donate here.

Our Volunteers Are Serving in Poland and Ukraine

“You brought new hope which gives us the energy to work more for saving lives and approaching our duty. You are our guardian angel!”

– Dr. Lev Prystupiuk, City Clinical Hospital #4, Kyiv, Ukraine

The Need

Global Care Force volunteers witnessed the ravages of war on the physical, mental and spiritual health of people in cities and villages across Ukraine. Our volunteers traveled with faith-based and humanitarian organizations delivering medicine, food and providing comfort along the way. The need for healthcare volunteers in Ukraine remains great.

Global Care Force plans to send primary care teams to Ukraine to provide medical services and humanitarian aid for those in need. The primary care teams will work alongside Ukrainian partners for a minimum of two weeks. Teams will consist of RN’s, NP’s, PA’s and primary care doctors. If you would like to volunteer, click here. If you would like to donate to support a team, click here.

Next Steps

With no end in sight for the war, Global Care Force is committed to providing ongoing help to Ukraine. Global Care Force has outlined several initiatives to support our partner hospitals and doctors.

  • Volunteer primary care and surgical teams. Global Care Force will send qualified healthcare professionals to provide medical care to those impacted by the war. Primary care teams will embed with Ukraine hosts for a minimum of two weeks, addressing the needs of patients with minimal access to healthcare in Eastern Ukraine. Surgical teams will be stationed in hospitals closer to active combat zones for a minimum of two weeks to improve the capacity of hospital surgeons to handle additional patients and combat wounded.
  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) systems. Global Care Force plans to deliver more NPWT systems that draw out fluid and infection from a wound, allowing it to heal much more quickly than standard wound care therapies.
  • Purchase a van to serve as a primary care mobile clinic, allowing medical teams to travel to locations in Eastern Ukraine to provide primary care and humanitarian aid.
  • Medicines and medical supplies. Disrupted supply chains make it difficult for doctors in Ukraine to access medicines and medical supplies they need to treat patients. Global Care Force will purchase and deliver the items our partner doctors request.

Your donation helps Global Care Force provide ongoing support to Ukrainian hospitals and doctors working to care for those in need.

Volunteers in Action

Global Care Force volunteers know the joy and fulfillment of serving those in need, and the transformation in their lives through volunteering. Global Care Force volunteers serve in California, Mexico, New Mexico, Poland, and Ukraine.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jim Pettey, MD (pictured) visited Ukrainian hospitals near the front lines, assessing medical needs to learn how Global Care Force volunteers can help. “I was extremely impressed by the level of cleanliness and the quality of care provided by our Ukrainian medical colleagues under these conditions of hardship.”

Volunteers like Sheng Haley are caring for impoverished men near the end of life at a hospice in Pacifica, California.

“My experience is one of the most memorable I’ve ever had. I got the chance to build relations with some of the men and learn about their life experiences. The Missionaries of Charity Sisters and the caregivers are selfless, caring people, and it was a privilege to work with each of them.”

Volunteer Don Dunning returns yearly to serve as a shelter assistant in Gallup, New Mexico, at St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen and Homeless Shelter.

“The unconditional love the Sisters show to the community they serve has been a reaffirmation of my faith and the need to serve those in need.”

Volunteers like John Luke Nawar are attending to the “abuelos,” elderly men with chronic illnesses experiencing homelessness and poverty in Rosarito, Mexico.

“These men are gentle, their hearts are sweet, and they have grown close like brothers. They don’t have families and they rely on the Sisters and Global Care Force volunteers to care for them.”
